gap technical are proud to be representing this global manufacturing business in their search for a Maintenance Engineer to work at their facility based near Manchester

Performance Objectives

  • To carry out technical analysis and coordinate planned, preventative and predictive maintenance in order to eliminate production and compliance losses. To provide technical support and coaching to the Shift Based Teams, and manage escalations in line with process, to include diagnosing and resolving complex breakdowns
  • Manage Control of Work procedures including issuing and managing permits to work and carrying out Field Based Risk Assessment for all criteria specific tasks to ensure all work is carried out safely
  • Develop quality, safety and environmental compliance systems such as LOTO, PUWER, HACCP and management of change procedure to ensure legal compliance
  • Lead execution of breakdown analysis through to implementation of countermeasures to prevent reoccurrence of losses.
  • Drives technical support and coaching for Operators and Shift Technicians on working principles, maintenance plans within their area to enhance knowledge and skill levels
  • Decision making through collaboration with appropriate Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEMs) to ensure materials and service match standards
  • Collaborate in the development of ‘working principles’, maintenance plans and bills of materials to ensure there’s fit for purpose documentation
  • Manages all planned maintenance activities in the most efficient way within their area from work preparation of parts and materials through to execution and evaluation to reduce unplanned losses

Person Specification
